So, you’ve booked your first boudoir session (or you’re this close to it) and you’re probably thinking: what the heck did I just sign up for? If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Most of my clients feel a mix of excitement, nerves, curiosity, and self-doubt before their first time in front of the camera.

Take a deep breath. I’m Maria Vasserman of MS VISION, and I’m here to walk you through what to expect from your first time boudoir shoot – so you can feel confident, calm, and maybe even excited about it.

This guide is like a chat with your best friend who happens to be your photographer. Let’s demystify the process.

Before the shoot: planning + prep

From the moment you inquire, I make it my mission to help you feel supported. We’ll start with a call or message

exchange where I get to know your comfort level, vision, and vibe. We’ll talk about outfits, styling, whether you want a cozy studio or an in-home feel, and what kinds of shots you’re drawn to.

I’ll send over a prep guide and we’ll build a moodboard together (don’t worry, you don’t have to be a Pinterest queen). You’ll also get access to my curated client closet and I’ll help you choose the best looks for your body and personality.

If you’re unsure about anything – what to wear, how to pose, how to feel less awkward – that’s literally what I’m here for.

The day of: let’s make magic

When you arrive, we’ll chat a bit, go over the outfits, sip some water (or bubbles, if you bring your own), and ease into things.

Here’s what you won’t have to worry about:

  • Knowing how to pose (I’ll guide you)
  • Feeling stiff or uncomfortable (we’ll warm up gradually)
  • Looking like someone you’re not (this is about you, not someone else)

I’ll walk you through every step – from where to put your hands to how to breathe naturally. We’ll laugh, chat, maybe play some music, and honestly, it ends up feeling like a creative girls’ day where you just happen to leave with gorgeous photos.

Some people choose to go full glam, others keep it soft and natural. Some wear lingerie, some wear sweaters, bodysuits, or nothing at all. There’s no right or wrong way to do this.

After the shoot: the glow-up continues

After your shoot, I’ll select the best images, edit them to highlight your natural beauty, and send you a private gallery to review. Most clients tell me this is the moment it really hits – seeing themselves the way others see them. Strong. Beautiful. Confident.

You can choose digital files, create a printed keepsake, or build a luxe album. We’ll chat through what makes sense for you. This isn’t just a one-day experience – it’s something you’ll treasure for years.

A few final things to remember

  • It’s okay to feel nervous – almost everyone does
  • You don’t have to change a thing about yourself to be worthy of this experience
  • I’ll be there the entire time to support, guide, and hype you up
  • This shoot is about celebrating you – just as you are, right now
