You’ve decided to do a boudoir session – amazing! Now comes one of the most exciting (and sometimes confusing) parts: figuring out where to do it.

Don’t stress. I’m Maria Vasserman of MS VISION, and I help every client choose the perfect spot for their vibe, comfort level, and style. Whether you’re dreaming of a cozy studio, a luxury loft, your own home, or even an outdoor location – I’ll help you find the perfect fit.

This guide will walk you through your options, the pros and cons, and some real talk about how to make your boudoir shoot feel 100% like you.

Why location matters

Where you shoot sets the tone for the whole experience. It’s more than just a backdrop – it affects your comfort level, the lighting, the aesthetic, and the final images. The right space can make you feel empowered, calm, and in your element. That’s why I never leave this decision up to chance. I scout, suggest, and tailor everything for you.

Option 1: Boudoir studios

Studios are designed for this. Think clean setups, natural light, furniture that photographs beautifully, and full privacy.

Pros:

  • Controlled environment (great lighting, temperature, sound)
  • Built-in furniture and props
  • Clean, minimal, clutter-free backgrounds
  • No distractions, total focus on you

Things to consider:

  • Some studios feel sterile or too staged – I’ll help you find a space that feels warm, intimate, and true to you
  • Extra booking fee depending on location

At MS VISION, I’ve built relationships with some of the best Toronto boudoir studios. I’ll show you photos, give you options, and help you choose the one that feels most like your style – from bright and airy to dark and moody.

Option 2: In-home sessions

Want that cozy, personal vibe? Doing your shoot at home can feel incredibly intimate and real – and it captures your everyday beauty in your own space.

Pros:

  • Personal and deeply authentic
  • No travel required
  • Access to your full wardrobe and comfort zone

Things to consider:

  • Lighting and clutter can be tricky (but I’ll help you prep the space and bring gear if needed)
  • Might require more tidying or styling depending on the space

If you want your shoot to feel like a love letter to your real life, this is a great option. We’ll find the best corners of your home to shoot in – whether it’s your bed, a big window, or your favorite cozy chair.

Option 3: Rented spaces or boutique hotels

Loft spaces, Airbnb rentals, or boutique hotels can add luxury and variety. These spots often have great styling, unique furniture, and dreamy light.

Pros:

  • Unique and elevated aesthetics
  • Often feature stunning design, texture, and character
  • Can feel like a mini getaway

Things to consider:

  • Rental cost and time limits
  • Some Airbnbs don’t allow photography, so I’ll help you double-check and book the right one

I’ve scouted dozens of incredible Toronto spaces and can recommend hidden gems you’d never find on your own. If you want a creative, high-end feel without the stress of finding a place yourself, I’ve got you.

Option 4: Outdoor boudoir (yes, really!)

This one’s not for everyone – but if you’re a little adventurous and want something completely unique, outdoor boudoir can be magical.

Pros:

  • Dramatic natural settings (forests, beaches, rooftops)
  • Natural light galore
  • Totally unexpected and creative

Things to consider:

  • Weather and privacy are big factors
  • More planning and flexibility needed

If you’ve got a vision for a windswept beach shot or dreamy field vibes, let’s talk. I’ll help you find a safe, private location and time it perfectly.

How I help you pick the perfect location

No matter what vibe you’re going for – cozy, classy, moody, minimal, romantic, bold – I’m here to make sure your location matches your vision.

I’ll help by:

  • Asking the right questions to understand your style and comfort zone
  • Creating a moodboard to visualize your dream space
  • Scouting and sending you options (studio, home, Airbnb, etc.)
  • Helping you plan around lighting, time of day, and logistics
  • Making sure you feel 100% comfortable with the space

You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’ve done the trial-and-error so you don’t have to – and I’m always happy to go the extra mile to find a spot that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

Your location, your vibe, your shoot

At the end of the day, this boudoir shoot is about you. The space we shoot in should reflect that – whether it’s a clean studio, your cozy home, a dreamy hotel room, or an outdoor hideaway.

No matter what you choose, I’ll be there to support, guide, and hype you up the entire time. That’s what I do best.
